O’Steen Brothers, Inc. was awarded a contract in April 2014 to work on a complete redesign and reconstruction project for the City of Gainesville near Depot Avenue. The project includes three roundabouts including a distinctive peanut shaped roundabout as seen in the aerial photos below. It includes a significant amount of underground utility work to install new water, sewer and reclaimed water lines, two retention ponds and three 48-inch-diameter pipes just west of southwest sixth street, where Tumbling Creek will flow under the roadway. Curb and gutter, medians, new landscaping, a new sidewalk, decorative street lighting and bicycle lanes are also part of the project.  The project is expected to last two years.
